Âé¶čAV retains first-class award for seventh year running

Âé¶čAV has once again been recognised for its exceptional commitment to sustainability, retaining its First-Class Award in the . This marks the seventh consecutive year that the university has achieved this distinction. 

Bangor is now ranked 25th out of 147 universities for its sustainability, in the UK-wide league table. 

Notable achievements include 12th place nationally for Carbon Management and while specific rankings for Staff and Student Engagement and Staff and HR categories were not highlighted as sub-categories, Bangor continues to score highly in these areas too.  

Professor Oliver Turnbull, Vice-Provost (Global Engagement), who leads on Sustainability said, "We couldn’t be more delighted to maintain our position as one of the leading sustainable universities in the UK.

“First Class for seven years in a row is a tremendous achievement.

“This isn’t down to just one part of the University, or a small group of people, this is because of the work we’re all doing, every day, right across the institution.”

Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Sustainability, Professor Christian Dunn, added, "The People and Planet University League Table is one of the most important league tables because it considers all areas of sustainability, not just the obvious environmental issues.

“Keeping our First-Class position hasn’t been easy this year, so we’re especially delighted with the result.”

“We’re a great university for so many reasons, and it’s great our efforts in sustainability have been recognised in this way yet again - everyone at the University is part of this, and we should all be really proud of the work we’re doing,” he added.
