2017 NSS success for SENRGy!
The release of the 2017 National Student Survey (NSS) results has seen great success for the School of Environment Natural Resources and Geography (SENRGy). The School achieved a hugely impressive 94% overall satisfaction score; in a number of the schoolâs undergraduate subject areas achieved satisfaction scores that are amongst the best in the UK.
Âé¶čAV is now rated FIRST in the Wales in the Agriculture subject area (96% overall satisfaction), which includes SENRGyâs and degrees. In addition, Bangor is in the UK Top 20 in the UK in subject area; scoring 97% overall satisfaction. This includes the Schoolâs Environmental Science Programme achieving 100% student satisfaction.
The success for SENRGy mirrors that of Âé¶čAV as a whole, which remains in the UK top 10 for Overall Student Satisfaction; as well as for measures including: âstudent voiceâ and the benefits students see in their feedback. The Universityâs great NSS results follow on the back on it being awarded Gold status in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework.
Commenting on the 2017 NSS results, SENRGyâs Head of School Professor Morag McDonald commented âthis is a fantastic result and credit to the efforts that all our technical, administrative and academic staff put in to teaching and student support. The results also reflect the highly productive partnership we develop with our students, particularly through the Schoolâs Staff-Student Liaison Committee, and our peer-guiding scheme. Bangor is in an unrivalled location for studying environmental and geographical subjects and it is incredibly pleasing to see that SENRGy students are hugely satisfied with their experienceâ.
The past twelve months have seen much success for SENRGy on many fronts, including being awarded the inaugural School of the Year Award at 2017 Âé¶čAV Student Led Teaching Awards. The School is now looking forward to welcoming new and returning students to Bangor in September, and the start of another successful 12 months!
