BARN magazine is 50 years old

Barn magazine, which offers independent and intelligent feedback to all the excitement of contemporary Wales and the rest of the world, is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. In collaboration with the School of Welsh, Âé¶čAV, a reception will be held on the University’s stand at the National Eisteddfod of Wales on Tuesday, August 7 at 3.30, to launch its summer double issue.

“This year is important to Barn, as the magazine celebrates its 50th birthday. To mark the milestone, we are holding special activities at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. A lecture by Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas AC, Chancellor of Âé¶čAV, on ‘Barn’s Independence’, will be followed by a reception to launch the summer double issue with Barn columnist, ShĂŽn Williams.

“We are proud of this opportunity to collaborate with Âé¶čAV – this reflects a consistent contribution to the magazine by University staff,” said Menna Baines, co-editor of Barn.
